Reaching New Heights In @ClubMonaco

Recently I was standing around the new office in my 5 inch heels (as I usually do of course), and I decided to explore the rooftop. That’s right we have a roof now! Actually we have two, and after over a year of no windows I am beyond excited…like cartwheel excited if I could do one. Of course my curiosity got the better of me when I found a ladder leading to somewhere possibly interesting.

I decided that if Carrie Bradshaw can run, jump and go camping (please refer to the episode of when Carrie visits Aidan’s country home in Suffern, New York), I can climb a simple ladder in my heels.

Good news is I did not die (yipeee). Bad news is that there were no treasure, or secret passage way, or hidden plants (wink wink), just more roof.

Nevertheless, my Sam Edelman heels proved to be amazing comfort. Showing girls can do anything boys can do, but in heels and pretty dresses. That’s right, I rocked my Club Monaco dress and loved it. The brand is classic and simply beautiful. Not to mention, I am always a fan of brands that are blogger friendly, and Club Monaco is totally that with their new Tumblr partnership. In fact the brand created a whole new lookbook Tumblr with the styling of Le Blog De Betty, Camille Over the Rainbow, After The Cups, Sincerely Jules (one of my favs), and many more. My name is Vicki, and I am a shopaholic! I can’t help it. When I see something pretty, I have to have it or at least press my nose against the window.

Luckily I have a few friends in high places. These high places of course being PR closets. Seriously ladies if you want access to free clothes and a personal closet provided by your company, go into PR or make sure to have friends in PR. Which is why I am happy to say that one of my besties works at Club Monaco. I love the brand and their understated yet beautiful clothes, so I was thrilled to find out that she was willing to provide me a few pieces to style on Indie. How did she know free was just my budget?

Hair Maintenance With @UniKWaxCenters

It is sad but oh so true. No matter how much we shave it, wax it, or pluck it, that damn hair just keeps coming back. Luckily I have found heaven when it comes to hair removal, or at least as close as you can get to heaven considering the process includes someone literally pulling hair out of your body by the root.

YES boys this is what we deal with on a monthly basis for you and bikini season but mostly for you. So you may pay for dinner and drinks, but we pay at least $50+ to go bald…in certain areas.

For my ‘hair maintenance’ Uni K Wax is now my new and only spot. First of all, it is 100% natural wax which is perfect for sensitive skin. Second of all, the wax hardens and is itself pulled off without having to use paper strips. This means there is no stickiness left behind. And if you’re like me and run during your lunch break to take care of your business, it is much more pleasant to walk back to the office and not stick to your underwear all day.

In summary, I say GO ladies! Get ready for spring, bikini season and of course date night and/or a summer flings (wink wink).

Met Gala Punk or Bust?!

This year the Met Gala was punk themed, so I understand the need to get a little funky and creative but when you have a million plus dollars at your disposal you should manage the ‘cool’ wow versus the ‘oooops’ wow factor. I am not saying looking like a garden threw up on you is a bad thing (cough cough KK), but there are other options.

Jennifer Lawrence was beautiful because she is beautiful, but a bit dull for the theme in Dior. Much like Kate Bosworth in Balmain. You look hot ladies, but where’s the punk?

SJP definitely rocked the look in a Philip Treacy headpiece and Giles Deacon gown. I am always happy to see when a little bit of Carrie Bradshaw shines through her style.

Katie Holmes decided to just look fabulous, and i don’t blame her. Girl looks good in Calvin Klein!

Though I am lately impressed with the adult look of Miley Cyrus, I did not like her hedgehog inspired ‘do in Marc Jacobs last night.

‘Oh my’ is all I can say about Madonna in Givenchy Haute Couture. I mean I get that she is a sex legend, but come on sweetie.

And of course my two favorites were Anne Hathaway in Valentino and Beyonce in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. Anne looks stunning, classic and punk - a perfect combination. B of course looks cool, sexy and well damn she is Beyonce!

I am not the most comfortable person in front of the camera…but…when you get an amazing outfit from the BCBG Spring 2013 Collection, you have no choice but to show it off.

The collection is amazing! It has all my favorite aspects, including leather, lace, cut-outs, and the ability to show off some cleavage, which is always a girl’s best accessory in my opinion. Of course I was drawn to the black dresses, skirts and etc. You can say it’s a NYC thing, but I think it’s just classic and of course thinning, which is never a bad thing to the female gender.

I LOVE Zoe Saldana. I think she is beyond adorable, and her style is amazing to say the least. She has always shined on the red carpet, and recently I have been green with envy of her dresses, crop tops and high waisted skirts. The girl knows how to rock it, and I am clearly in need of an increase in my salary to attempt to steal her looks. I also may need a few extra bucks for a personal trainer, nutritionist/chef, make-up artist, and hair stylists. Should I start my Kickstarter now?

Why So Furious Vin Diesel?

It’s now been six movies, and Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are still driving ‘Fast and Furious.’ Don’t get me wrong I LOVE seeing Walker’s baby blue eyes and always tanned, surfer boy face, but they stole over $100 million last time. Shouldn’t they be ‘fast and relaxed?’

Nope! The boys are back assembling their team of drivers/criminals to help ‘The Rock’ stop a different gang of drivers/criminals, which makes me wonder if NASCAR has a rehabilitation program that has gone way wrong. Regardless everyone is back to clear their records because real FBI agents just don’t have what it takes to take down the newly formed drivers/criminals. Who apparently have recruited Michelle Rodriquez. That’s right, she’s back from the dead and Diesel just cannot let that rest (side note: anyone but me have a hard time deciding which one has the deeper voice in that relationship).

All jokes aside I will be watching it at the theatre this May, and I am almost not ashamed to admit!
